Eclectic MIX Exhibition, International Art Show, Pretoria, South Africa

July 7, 2015

I am so thrilled in August I will be exhibiting three of my paintings with my very talented fellow artists Ernst de Jong and Roberta Higginson Grewcock in Pretoria South Africa.
I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity.

The Caesarstone launch 2015 collection.

The new designs were officially unveiled during live events held in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.
I was one of the eight local artists in Vancouver commissioned to create a custom work of art, which were then executed during the event. Ifirst coated the surface with paint, and as the night progressed, I slowly removed the paint from the surfaces to reveal the surface of the stone.
It was my first time I painted in this technique and absolutely loved it.
The Concept
The ideafor my painting is derived from the name of the stone “Taj Royale”. When I started creating this painting, I wanted to paint an image that’s visually striking and memorable.
I started with the heart shape and merged the Hindu women’s faces together.
In the Hindu religion there is a mantrasaying "I am in You and You are in me” , thereby stating the unity and love of all beings. The women hold two lotus flowersin Hindu and Buddhist religion the lotus flower signifies a flawless and timeless divine beauty. The Taj Royale stone with the color ultramarine violetwill be perfect making this art piece more beautiful.
